I put a new flattening bit through its paces on the CNC recently. This Mulberry slab was around 3″ thick x 33″ long x 20″ wide. This new Nitomak bit made light work of it. Lots of sawdust! I had to take about 1/2″ off of both sides to make it flat and level. It was severely warped on both sides. That is not unusual for big slabs though.

Mulberry is an interesting wood. It is a golden yellow when freshly cut but it turns to a chocolate brown over time. This will end up being a 3D carved sign for a local business.
